Good Neighbor Home Health Care was founded in 1984 by Sherrie Christensen. She realized that a need existed when her family was struck by a long-term illness, and found no private home care services available in the community. Direct client care and services are provided from this office throughout the Brainerd Lakes area. This service region includes the cities of Brainerd, Baxter, Lakeshore, Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Pine River, Backus, Emily, Fifty Lakes, Crosslake, Manhattan Beach, Crosby, Ironton, Deerwood, Garrison, Fort Ripley, and Pillager.

Sherrie is the founder and President/Administrator, of Good Neighbor Home Health Care. Sherrie has an extensive background in home care management. Her personal experience in caring for her father at home is invaluable and helped her to form the philosophies of Good Neighbor. Sherrie provides the company with strong leadership and the vision to guarantee the company's success. She instills in her caregivers the need for customer relationships that exhibit quality personal care, concern and trust while encouraging the support and the independence of the family in their care giving role.

Shannon is the Director of Nursing for Good Neighbor Home Health Care. Before becoming our DON in 1999, she served as a case manager for Good Neighbor for several years. Her extensive experience in nursing, home care and case management of home health clients give Shannon the unique talent to combine operational efficiency with the caring and concern that our clients and nursing staff require. She provides our company with strong leadership and the insight to promote growth and client satisfaction.

Shirley is Good Neighbor Home Health Care's Human Resources Director. Shirley has been our HR Director since 1993 and was previously one of our nurse managers. She came to Good Neighbor with several years experience in an acute care hospital setting and with 14 years experience in caring for the mentally or physically disabled. She utilizes her expertise in human resource management together with her empathetic nature in effectively managing our caregivers. Shirley also provides valuable support to our nursing staff with her great knowledge of the rules and regulations that pertain to home care.

Michelle began her position with Good Neighbor in 1999. She also manages our Assisted Living program located at the North Star Apartments in Brainerd. Her sweet spirit and compassion allow her to communicate thoroughly with our patients, family members and the health care team.

Joyce's patience, sense of spirituality and gentle nature enable her to empathize and relate with her patients and their families while providing quality care. She provides a wealth of knowledge that is very valuable to our team of nurses.

Betsy has been an RN Case Manager with Good Neighbor Home Health Care since 1995. In 2003, she began managing the Assisted Living program in the Pequot Lakes area for Good Neighbor as well. Prior to joining our agency, Betsy had over 25 years of nursing experience. Her background includes intensive care, medical/surgical nursing, long term care, management and clinic nursing. She worked many years side by side with numerous local physicians and gained valuable knowledge that is a wonderful resource to our team of nurses.
